ABOUT ABOUT

January 20, 2019

Join us at the Glastonbury Planetarium to view a lunar eclipse of the Moon. Monday is a holiday for many us so we can stay up late! A total lunar eclipse is when the Earth casts a shadow on the Moon. A nickname for a lunar eclipse is also called a "blood Moon" because of the color it makes when the eclipse reaches totality. The eclipse begins around 9:30 pm with totality starting around 11:41 pm.  We have telescopes aviable to view the Moon and other celestial objects. Learn the science and history of eclipses with shows in the planetarium.

10:30 - 1:00 am assuming clear skies.

No ticket required but we would like guests to sign up so we have an idea of how many will stop by to look through our telescopes and hang out in the dome (seating is limited in the dome).  If it is cloudy we will project a live feed of the eclipse on our dome.   Join us to share this unique celestial event with others. Refreshments will be provided.
